Hm. Feeding JoliePrintemps a combination of nothing but herb and vegetable paste, taking her for short walks each day, and having her listen to music has brought her Receptivity up to Substandard on Day 10. o.O Color me surprised… currently there’s no information on how to raise just receptivity (and I was going for discernment)… I can’t say conclusively which care aspect was responsible, so the information doesn’t do me much good, unfortunately. :/
I started Pankration yesterday–went out and got myself a Colibri to fight with. I wanted something cute, to be honest, and figured as annoying as they are, they must have some merits. I named her Relentless Heart and she started at LV7. Well, on the plus side, mine was the only Colibri I saw ALL NIGHT, and there were indeed a large variety of pets, meaning people really are trying to do things their own way. That’s encouraging. My Colibri is a RDM and I just got her a soul plate with a NIN subjob. :D The problem is she doesn’t have enough Feral Points for me to plug in her Ninjutsu scrolls, so for now I’m not sure how much help it’ll be. She’s sick against Aquans though!

Took FierJoyeuse out for another spin today. She didn’t disappoint me–but I think the impossible luck of where the treasure ended up had more to do with it. She nailed the treasure in 7 digs total (six of which were the actual burrows toward the treasure). Hopefully JoliePrintemps will be able to take over when she gets a bit bigger, and can make up for FierJoyeuse’s stat problems (which are admittedly my fault). In a crate we found a chocobuck claim slip (one buck), a parasite worm, and some gysahl greens. I ended up eating those myself when I was visiting with Miah at the racetrack (for luck). Didn’t help. Lost two races. That toteboard is a load of crap!
I had met with Miah because she wanted to try on my Qiqirn Hood before I sold it back to the auction house. It was cute, but I don’t really need it anymore. :D I just wanted to have it for a little while, and the novelty has worn off.

JoliePrintemps (Beautiful Springtime) was born today at 9:45 PM. It’s a girl! To celebrate her birth I headed next door to the chocobo racing circuit and blew 10k on losing tickets. Every time I bet on a race, one of my birds places first but the other places somewhere in the middle (meaning I get nothing). I swear the game can smell desire.
Miah and I discovered that while we can’t use the chocobo racing circuit to get a quick teleport from city to city, we can meet there even if we’re separated by the Bastore Sea, which is pretty cool. She tried her hand at a few bets and lost, too. But it was fun.
JoliePrintemps made friends with a chocobo chick named Melody and even found a little lost chick on her first day! I’m struggling to hunt down the bird’s owner. All I know is that it’s a girl–either a mithra or a tarutaru with a name that starts with “P”. We should find her in a couple of days. Maybe there’s a nice reward. Until then, Jolie will be training her musical ear in the stables, listening to classical music as per my instructions. I foresee a very discerning bird. She’ll probably be yellow, but that’s not so bad. Vintage.
In other news, SE has announced a release date for the Wings of the Goddess expansion and with it, a new job (dancer). IrmaVep of ffxiclopedia.com forums had this to say:
